Vintage Bread & Butter Plate, Laughlin Rhythm Pottery, American Provincial Pattern, Classic Tableware, Mid Century, American Made USA, Folk Art Style, Replacement, (Discontinued)
Vintage: 1952
Made in USA
Details: This is a Bread & Butter plate, featuring the classic Folk Art pattern from Homer Laughlin called American Provincial, introduced in 1951. The stylized pattern that includes hearts and flowers is typical of the simplified linearity of folk art. The Rhythm name refers to the ceramic shape and not the decoration. The plate is stamped "L52 N 5", which tells us this specific plate was made in 1952. Hand washing in recommended since it is old, it is not dishwasher safe. This ceramic is not bright white, it's more of a beige / off-white color. It's a great replacement if you've broken yours or are looking to add more plates to your set. Lovely as wall decor in a Farmhouse Country styled home.
