Abadeh Carpet

Abadeh is a village halfway between Shiraz and Isfahan. The most common design in Abadeh is the so-called "Heybatlou", which dates back to one of the Gashgai sub-tribes. This design has a large hexagon with a rosette or medallion in the center and corners. Part of the design are small floral motifs, animals such as birds and camels, or small geometric designs. These are scattered throughout the carpet. Abadeh rugs can be found in all sizes up to 6 m². Their often textured and symmetrical design makes them great runners for hallways or kitchens. They usually come in subtle colors like reddish brown, beige, and blue.
