Tickets Now On Sale for TBT Regionals & Championship To Be Held At UD Arena
DAYTON – The Basketball Tournament held its “Signing Day” on Tuesday, and the University of Dayton TBT alumni team Red Scare announced that it has added Flyer standout point guard Scoochie Smith to its roster.
Smith joins the previously announced core of Red Scare players of Darrell Davis, Trey Landers, Ryan Mikesell, Vee Sanford and Joe Thomasson.
For all of the former Flyer players, this will be their first opportunity to play in front of the Flyer Faithful at UD Arena since they finished their Dayton basketball careers.
A 2017 UD graduate, Smith is the only three-time team captain in Dayton basketball history. He is part of the only Flyer class that played in the NCAA tournament all four seasons of their career. He is the only UD player to have 1,200 points, 400 assists, 100 steals and 100 three-pointers. After his college career ended, Smith has played professionally in Australia, Greece, Serbia and the G League. This past season he played for Mega Bemax in Serbia.
Scoochie is the brother of current Flyer point guard Malachi Smith. The Smith brothers are the only set of brothers to both be named Dayton MVPs. Scoochie was named a co-MVP as a senior in 2016-17, and Malachi was co-MVP as a freshman this season.
To celebrate the signing of Scoochie (and with a nod to his wearing number 11), the TBT is offering a special 11-day ticket promotion. Starting Tuesday, May 3 through Friday, May 13th fan can buy a Regional All-Session Package (3 days of basketball, 4 sessions, 7 games – July 24, 26 and 27) in the regular price range of $60 in the upper Arena to a premium package of $300 and get an opportunity to purchase a half-price lower Arena ticket for the TBT Championship game at UD Arena on Tuesday, Aug. 2 for the winner-takes-all, $1 million prize for only $20 ($40 value).
